4 Tips For Dark Circles

There is good (and bad) news about dark circles. First, the bad: dark circles are hereditary and there is really no miracle ‘cure’ for them. The good news? There are ways to help reduce their appearance!dark circles

1. Apply an eye cream that contains brightening properties (such as our Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream or Ceramide Eye Gel). They both contain Rose Hips Oil, which is naturally high in Vitamin C (which has brightening qualities). If you also struggle with under-eye puffiness, the Ceramide Eye Gel is your best bet—when refrigerated, it helps soothe tired, puffy eyes (and it contains skin-softening and nourishing ingredients such as Ceramides and Herbal Extracts).

2. Dark circles are partially attributed to a lack of blood flow; when using an eye cream, make sure to gently apply in circular motions to encourage blood flow.

3. On a freshly cleansed, toned, and moisturized face (and after applying eye cream), gently pat on a yellow or peach-based brightener followed by a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin tone. Blend well to help hide dark circles.

4. Aim to get seven to eight hours of sleep each night. A good night’s rest can help discourage a tired look.

  3. I have circles under my eyes and I always thought you weren’t supposed to do anything to the skin other than to dab product around the eyes. So interesting to hear about massaging to restore blood flow. I’m going to try that!

  4. I really like this tip about encouraging the blood flow. I never would have thought of that!

  5. WOW! some really great tips, going to pass them along to all of my friends, thanks

  6. I’ve noticed a big improvement since I began using the Hyaluronic Eye cream from Mario Badescu. My skin looks more plump & lines are less obvious.

  7. This is just what I need. I have been lacking sleep this past few weeks and my mom keeps reminding me I look almost as old as her now. It gets worse, my eyes are so puffed I’m starting to look like Garfield. I thought there wouldn’t be any solution for my dark eye circles since all of my face products’ stern warnings are to be not applied on the eye area. It’s a relief to know there’s a solution after all. Thank you for addressing this concern.
